For $10 per year your
Membership entitles you to additional perks
beside being listed as a site supporter.
- A secondary email account that can be used in one of two
ways.
- First you can simply use it as
an additional email account and you can access it on the
Internet via any web browser so you can keep in touch when
you travel. Or, you can add the account to your local email
client such as Outlook Express or a full version of Outlook
and download your mail just as you do with your primary
account.
- Second, you can have your DFAS
ALUMNI email account automatically forward any email it
receives to any other account. This is especially handy
if you find you're changing email addresses frequently,
such as moving from hotmail.com to yahoo.com or anyone else
and thereby taking a chance of losing contact with friends
because your email address changed. By forwarding
your email from your DFAS ALUMNI account here, you have
one primary address that will not change, unless you desire
a change, and it will forward email to any other address
you wish.
- A paragraph about your business interest
and a link to your website. Although many members have moved
to new DFAS locations or have accept federal jobs with other
organizations, many have moved to the civilian sector with new
careers. This section affords you the opportunity to get your
business interests out to the DFAS community and maybe drive
a little business your way.
And I can switch the email account to perform
either function at any time you wish. You pick your username and
password! If you and your spouse are current or former DFAS employees,
one $10 annual membership will cover both you and your spouse -
each of you may have your own DFAS ALUMNI email account if you
wish.
